The meaning of the numeral ΙΗ = 18 on the reverse of this coin is unknown. It is not a date according to a city era, for while 14, 15 and 16 occur under Trajan and 17 and 18 under Hadrian, the numbers keep climbing much slower under later emperors, eventually reaching 42 under Gallienus. The lowest recorded number, on the other hand, is 12 under Domitian.
